On a visit, be sure to explore Old Town, especialy for the Ljubljana Castle, perched atop a wooded hill. The Cathedral of St. Nicholas with its striking bronze doors is worth a visit, too.
If you want a taste of nightlife, Maribor is the place for you. Located on the Austrian border, this is the second largest city in Slovenia, and swarming with restaurants, cafes, theaters, museums and art-galleries. Slovenia is also famous for its castles such as Bled Castle and Ptuj Castle. The Škocjan Caves in the Kras region can’t be missed either.
Slovenia offers plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities year round. During summers, you’ll enjoy plenty of engaging activities such as hang-gliding, ballooning, hiking, bicycling and golf. Winters beckon visitors with cross-country skiing, sledging and skating. The skiing resorts of Kranjska, Bled, Cerkno, Gora, Rogla and Vogel and Krvavec are just irresistible!
